spent much of his early life at his grandpar house at the old Enoch Crosby farm at Tilly oster in Carmel After graduating from Wes leyan University in Middletown Conn in 1930 Mr Cornell joined his family lumber business He was active in the management of the Carmel Lumber Co for 47 years until it was sold to Lloyd Lumber in 1977 During World War II he served in the US Navy in both the Atlantic and Pacific the aters During the Korean War Mr Cornell served on the selec tive service draft board in Car mel He was a member of the American Legion iring Squad and local chapter of the Veter ans of
