University Hos pital in Tamarac la She was 50 Ms Hall was born June 21 1947 in Mount Vernon to Robert and Dora Barksdale Burch She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1965 Ms Hall had lived in Mount Vernon for 30 years before mov ing to lorida 20 years ago fit She liked music and outdoor activities her family said Ms Hall is survived by a brother James Barksdale of Mount Vernon A son Kyle Burch died earli er Visitation will be tomorrow at Primm uneral Home 102 Mount Vernon Ave Mount Ver non A 10 am funeral will be Monday at the funeral home followed by cremation at ern cliff Crematory in Hartsdale Joan Marie Keeler 67: volunteer retired secretary Joan Marie Keeler a 40 year resident of Scarsdale died i 1997 at her home She was 67 The cause was lung can cer her family said She was born July 7 1930 in New York City to Edwin and Lillian Keeler Ms Keeler gradu ated from St Barnabas High School in Woodlawn NY She was a secretary at the Burroughs Welcome Co in Tuck ahoe She lived in San rancisco in the 1970s where she was the secretary to the president of the San rancisco Symphony When Ms Keeler moved back to Scars dale she was the secretary to the vice president of purchasing at the Inter Continental Hotel in New York City until her retire ment at age 55 Ms Keeler traveled extensive ly in Asia Africa Australia South America and Europe after her retirement She served as a Republican district leader in Scarsdale She Thursday Nov Joan Marie Keeler 1 I 5 devoted a great deal of time to volunteer work her family said Among the organizations where Ms Keeler volunteered were the New York oundling Home for Children St Cabrini Nursing Home and various soup kitchens in New York City San rancisco and Westchester She was a parishioner of Im maculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale Ms family said her love and devotion for children and the elderly were only ex ceeded by her overwhelming thoughtfulness and generosity to her favorite charities friends and family She is survived by two broth ers Richard and George Keel er both of Scarsdale and two sisters Carol Keeler of Scarsdale and Barbara Kuhr of New Ro chelle Visitation will be today and tomorrow at Bennett uneral Home in Scarsdale The funeral Mass is at 10 am Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Mount Pleasant Memorial donations for the Ursuline Residence in New Ro chelle may be sent to the Ursu line Provincialate 323 198th St Bronx NY 10458 Ethel Smilkstein 85: volunteer Ethel Smilkstein a Mount Kis co resident died on Wednesday Nov 5 1997 at the Northern Westchester Hospital Center in Mount Kisco She was 85 Mrs Smilkstein volunteered with the American Red Cross and at Northern Westchester Hospital Center as a Gray Lady for more than 25 years She was also a past president of the Mount Kisco Hospital Auxiliary Along with friends she started a program to provide meals for the Passover seder service at Bedford Hills Correctional acil ity She was one of the founding members of the Sisterhood of Bet Torah Synagogue in Mount Kisco where she served as a treasurer and a member of the Board of Education She was fund raiser for the Leonard Park Pool in Mount Kisco and a Brownie and Girl Scout leader She enjoyed playing canasta and mah jongg and doing word puzzles her family said She was born on Sept 26 1912 to rank and Lubi Schack ishkin in New York City where she was raised and educated In 1931 she married Louis Smilkstein in the Bronx He died earlier The family settled first in Bed ford Hills and moved Mount Kis co in the 1940s In the 1950s she worked as the manager at Variety Store in Mount Kisco She is survived by three daughters Elaine Lowell of Hartsdale and Dr Rita Smilkstein and Barbara Lalley both of Seattle two sisters Es ther Levitt of Sunrise la and Goldie Weinberg of ort Lauder dale la nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren A funeral service will be held at 11 am tomorrow at the Oelk er Cox Workers Mrs Solombrino worked for General Motors Corp at its former Sleepy Hollow plant for 35 years She retired in the 1970s Mrs Solombrino was born in Yonkers on Oct 6 1910 to Sam uel and Anna Simon Besharo She lived in Tarrytown 30 years before moving to Ossining 35 years ago She is survived by three daughters Rita Capozzi of Ossin ing Barbara Anechiarico of Val halla and Lorraine Bondi of to James and Ricarda Anderson Hagen Mrs Wolfe worked in the securi ty trading department of a New York City bank most of her life She lived in New York City before moving to White Plains She then moved to Pennsylvania and had been living in New Holland for a year She attended the Presbyterian church Burial will be in Evergreen Cem etery in Brooklyn Groff High Eck enroth uneral Home in New Hol in ajardo Puerto Rico Mr lores attended school in Puerto Rico and moved to Manhattan in 1945 In 1970 he moved to North Tar rytown now known as Sleepy Hollow Mr lores was a cook His last employment was at Howard in Manhattan where he worked from 1969 to 1979 Mr lores is survived by four sons Manuel Ovidio and Wilfre do all of Sleepy Hollow and Ernesto of Spring Hill Tenn and six grandchildren
