8 A Tuesday November 25 1997 Obituaries Gannett Newspapers Raymond Oddo 56: retired special education teacher Raymond Oddo a retired special education teacher and long time Mahopac resident died Sun day Nov 23 1997 at Northern Westchester Hospital Center in Mount Kisco He was 56 He was born eb 17 1941 to Dominick and Mary Leto Oddo in the Bronx His family moved to Eastchester when he was a boy Mr Oddo graduated from Arch bishop Stepinac High School in White Plains He received his and degrees in special education from Southern Connecticut State College in New Haven On May 30 1963 he married Mary Rodriguez in Hampton Conn A former Mamaroneck resident Mr Oddo had lived in Mahopac for 26 years A special education teacher with Southern Westchester Board of Cooperative Educational Services for 34 years Mr Oddo taught in Valhalla until his retirement in 1996 He was a member of the amily Motor Coach Association and en joyed traveling in his motor home Mr Oddo was a parishioner of St John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac He was an advocate for the National Bone Marrow Donor Pro gram which encourages people to get tested for possible bone mar row donations and explains what it means to be a bone marrow donor In addition to his wife of Maho pac he is survived by two sons Dominick of Mahopac and Christo pher of San rancisco two broth ers Ronald of Huntington Conn and Dennis of Salem inquire about the National Bone Marrow Donor Pro gram Henriette McClelland 77: piano teacher concert series organizer Henriette Bassi McClelland a former New Rochelle resident who taught piano for 60 years and guided the Artists of New concert series died Sun day Nov 23 1997 at Horizon House a retirement residence in Seattle She was 77 She was born July 30 1920 in New Rochelle to Charles and Hen rietta Helmrich Bassi A New Rochelle High School graduate she was a scholarship piano student of Hans Barth at the National oundation for Musical Education in New York City and she later studied concert piano with Henrietta Michaelson Ra phael DaSilva Hedy Spielter and others She married George McClel land in 1943 in New Rochelle He died in 1983 Mrs McClelland began teaching piano at age 17 and continued until she moved to Seattle last summer She taught students in lower West chester particularly in Mamaro neck Larchmont Tuckahoe Pel ham and New Rochelle She enjoyed performing the works of Debussy Liszt Chopin and Brahms and gave piano reci tals throughout Westchester and in New York City She also played classical guitar and recorder Mrs McClelland was past presi dent of the Westchester Musicians Guild She was dedicated to pro moting outstanding young talent and was chairwoman of the Artists of New concert series at the New Rochelle Public Library for many years She wrote poetry and prose for most of her life Several of her mystery stories were published in Ellery Mystery Magazine and one was featured on the televi sion show Hitchco*ck Pre Other stories were broad cast on German radio and rench television will miss her ener gy her piano playing her teaching and her said her son Keith of Seattle Mrs McClelland also is survived by a daughter Yvonne Leafgreen of Mentor Center She was Carlton A Stewart a longtime Westchester resident died Satur day Nov 22 1997 at White Plains Hospital Center He was 49 Mr Stewart was born Sept 24 1948 in New York City to Winston A and Eileen Stewart He attended Mount Vernon schools and graduated from Howard University in Washing ton DC In both high school and college he was a member of the ROTC Mr Stewart lived in Mount Vernon for about 20 years before moving to White Plains He was a senior bank examiner for New York state for 15 years He belonged to St Ola A Noel a Silver Lake homemaker died Monday Nov 24 1997 at White Plains Hospi tal Center She was 93 She was born June 20 1904 in Nova Scotia Canada to Sidney and Ida Hiltz Barkhouse She was educated in Point Novia Scotia She moved to White Plains in 1923 and to the Silver Lake section of Harrison 40 years ago She married Linwood Sawler in 1923 in Canada He died eb 20 1947 She married Wilfred Noel in May 1949 in Connecticut She was a member of St Bar Church in White Esther Burlone Morabito a Port Chester resident and retired ac count clerk died of cancer Mon day Nov 24 1997 at her home She was 77 She was born Nov 8 1920 in Yatesville Pa to Amedeo and Irene Marfisi Burlone She and her family moved to Port Chester and she graduated from Port Chester High School in 1937 She married Bruno Morabito on April 25 1943 at Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester A parishioner of Corpus Christi Church she also was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Port Chester Knights of Colum bus Council 503 Mrs Morabito worked as a book keeper for Muliwitz urniture Co from 1937 through 1944 She then was an account clerk for the Port Chester school district from 1964 until 1972 and for the White Plains school district from 1972 until 1987 She retired in October Christ Rezinas 91: retired restaurateur Episcopal Church in Mount Ver non His interests included cooking chess bowling fishing and mar bles Mr family said he was a devoted family man In addition to his mother of Mount Vernon and his father of Los Angeles Mr Stewart is sur vived by his wife Diane of White Plains a daughter Dana Stewart of Greenburgh a son Ethan of White Plains a sister Juliet Blidge of Manhattan a brother Roger of Connecticut three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews Camelot uneral Home in Mount Vernon is handling the arrangements Plains Mrs Noel was a home maker and a member of a church sewing circle She is survived by two sons Stirling Sawler of Jenson Beach la and George Sawler of Cort landt Manor two daughters Vi vian of White Plains and Joan Swartz of Bedford a sister Ruby Swinimer of Halifax Nova Scotia 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren Visitation will be today at the Ballard Durand uneral Home in White Plains The funeral service will be tomorrow at 10 am at St Church 1987 Mrs Morabito was active in the Port Chester public school PTAs as an officer and committee mem ber and served on many of the school committees She was a member of the na tional and local chapters of the American Association of Retired Persons and of the White Plains Retired Teachers Association In addition to her husband Mrs Morabito is survived by three daughters Andrea Ragusa of Wil ton Conn Celeste Morabito of Suffern and Elissa Morabito of Middletown NY a son Christo pher of Cortlandt Manor and two grandsons Visitation is today at Craft Netherlands On April 18 1921 she married Cornelius Booy in Manhattan Mr Booy died in 1952 Mrs Booy lived in Thompson ville Conn and Springfield Mass before moving to New York in 1940 In 1954 she moved to Mount Pleasant where she lived with her daughter Petro nella Ball her son in law Raymond Ball Jr and her grandchildren Deborah Wein and Gail Macleod Ball Mrs Booy took great pride in her ability as a seamstress her family said She made many of Sister Marie Liguori Colliton of the Sisters of St rancis in Hastings on Hudson died Sun day Nov 23 1997 at the infir mary of Immaculate Conception Motherhouse on the Hastings on HudsonGreenburgh border af ter a long illness She was 77 Sister Marie Liguori was born Oct 12 1920 in Staten Island to John Michael Colliton and Emma Margaret McCallum Colliton She was raised in Staten Island and graduated from St High School She went on to ordham University and earned her nurs ing diploma from St Vincent Hospital in Manhattan in 1947 She also took post graduate courses in operating room nurs ing at St Hospital in Rochester Minn In 1975 she trained as a purchasing agent at the Kellogg Center at Michigan State University She entered the Community of the Sisters of St rancis on July 16 1938 She took her first vows on July 14 1941 and took her final vows three years later Over her career she worked in many different capacities She began as a teacher at St Rosalie School in Brooklyn in 1941 and went on to teach at St Catha School in Pelham from 1942 to 1944 She was a staff nurse and op erating room supervisor at St rancis Hospital in Poughkeep her own clothes and sewed pro for Shop in White Plains and Mead department store in Scarsdale After her retirement in 1970 she was a volunteer at the Ruth Taylor Geriatric and Rehabilita tion Institute in the occupational therapy department and the mobile library Mrs Booy was affectionately known as She was a member of the Mount Pleasant Seniors In addition to her daughter of Mount Motherhouse She also super vised the Motherhouse at one time At St Agnes she also worked as a dietary aide and ray department clerk She retired in 1990 Survivors include her twin brother Ellsworth Hospital in Yon kers He was 91 Mr Rezinas owned the diner on Yonkers Avenue from 1955 to 1965 He then became a restaurant consultant for various Greek American restaurants in Westches ter County until retiring in 1979 Mr Rezinas was born eb 28 1906 to Peter and Helen Tsironis Retsinas in Sparta Greece He immigrated to New York City in 1920 In 1940 Mr Rezinas married Theresa Constantinakos in New York City The couple had lived in Yonkers since 1957 He was a parishioner of Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church in Yonkers In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters Helen Zacharkis of Spring Valley Peggy Hoff of Pittsford NY and Irene Henn of Hopewell Junction NY a sister Olga Tsonis of Greece six grandchildren and five great grandchildren Two brothers Thomas and George and two
