inside the Doles Community Center would be fixed some people are accusing them of being full of hot air have babies that are crying and staff that are said Malika Maccabee director of a day care program inside the cen On July 10 Maccabee closed the 35 child center part of theWestchester Community Opportu nity Program after temperatures inside two classrooms rose above 90 degrees parents had to leave work and pick up the said Maccabee She said many parents who desperately need money lose pay when they are forced to pick up their children from the center As youngsters sat at large round failure Saturday while visiting her son in New Jer sey She was 82 She was born in New York City on June 6 1907 to Robert McCart ney and Mary Elizabeth Shea Mc Cartney She attended New York City schools and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Port Chester In 1931 she married Dr Do minick Petix in Connecticut He died in 1982 She is survived by her son Robert Petix in Scotch Plgins NJ her daughter Jean Petix of Harrison and two grandchildren A daughter Alice Jones four brothers William McCartney Rob ert McCartney Arthur McCartnev tree valued at $9000 was severly an James Henry of Notre Dame and graduated in 1932 In 1934 heobtained a bachelor of law degree from the ordham University School of Law in Manhattan In 1968 he received a doctorate of law degree from ordham Mr Vassallo served on the Board of Education of the Harri son public schools for 15 years and was president of the school board for eight years On Nov 28 1937 he married Katherine Peters His wife died in December 1977 In September 1983 he married Judy Markumas A member of the New York Bar Association Mr Vassallo was active with the Democratic Party in Harrison and was a member of i the Knights of Columbus in Harri son He was a trustee of St Gregory the Great Church in Harrison In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters Pat ricia reebern of Cherry Hill NJ Joanne Ruddy of Cheverly
