cook died riday at Northern Westchester Hospital Center in Mount Kisco She was 70 Mrs Niciu worked as a cook in restaurants in the Ardsley area until she retired in 1988 She was born Jan 27 1923 in Ardsley to William and Alice Park Brinkerhoff She graduated from Ardsley public schools Mrs Niciu lived in Ardsley until 1988 when she moved to Mohegan Lake to live with her daughter She was a former member of the Ardsley Methodist Church or the past two years she was a member of the Bethel Day Care program in Ossining During that time she had served as presi dent Besides her daughter Debo rah Lightbody Mrs Niciu is survived by a brother George Brinkerhoff of Simsbury Conn a sister June Turk of Brentwood Long Island and three grand children The Edwards uneral Home in Dobbs erry is handling the ar rangements Joseph Polockow: former area resident Joseph Polockow a former Yonkers resident died riday of a heart attack at Putnam Hospi tal Center in Carmel He was 75 Mr Polockow a Hopewell Junction resident lived in Yon kers from 1938 to 1956 He was born March 25 1918 in New Britain Conn to Andrew and Nela Narusevicia Polockow He graduated from Saunders Trades and Technical High School in Yonkers During World War II Mr Po lockow served in the US Army In 1938 he married Anna Kapus chansky in Yonkers He was the owner of Bait and Tackle Shop in Hopewell Junction Mr Polockow was a member of the East ishkill Rescue Squad the Stormville ire Police and a past member of the Whortlekill Rod Gun Club In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters Mary Ann Wilson of Wappingers alls and Pat Pylypshyn of Hopewell Junction two sons Joseph Polockow Jr of Moss Landihg Calif and George Polockow of Lagrangeville NY two sisters Helen Loia of Yonkers and Irene Genesky of lorida two broth ers Andrew Polockow of Glens alls NY and George Polockow of Yonkers 21 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren Two brothers John Polockow and rank Polockow died earli er Center in Carmel fol lowing a long illness She was 74 She was born June 6 1919 in Mahopac to James and Clara Head Hyatt She had lived in Stormville since 1951 Mrs Sprague was a member of the County Line Sports Club in Stormville She belonged to the Red Mills Baptist Church On July 1 1938 she married Lewis Sprague in Patterson She is survived by her hus band and two brothers Douglas Hyatt of resident of Putnam County died riday at Putnam Hospital Center in Car mel He was 75 He was born Aug 14 1918 in the Bronx to rederick and Ann Reutter Christ The family moved to Lake Carmel in 1930 and he graduated from Carmel High School During World War II Mr Christ served with the 844th Bombardment Squadron of the Army Air Corps He was an in structor for airplane mechanics He was a sergeant On eb 14 1948 he married Viola Krauss in Queens Until he retired Aug 13 1980 he was employed as a water plant operator by the New York City Watershed Department in Carmel Mr Christ was a life member of the Lake Carmel ire Depart ment and past commander of American Legion Post 270 in Carmel In addition to his wife Mr Christ is survived by several nieces and nephews A sister Margaret Hansman died earlier April 20 1959 in New Ro chelle When he was 2 years old his family Lester Yarborough moved to Mount Vernon where he attended schools Macedonia Baptist Church and a member of the Prayer and Deliv erance
